Director of Communications / Marketing – Keshet – Jamaica Plain, MA

We are seeking a dynamic, sophisticated communications professional to join a fantastic team at a growing non-profit. Working out of our national headquarters in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, the Director of Communications and Marketing will be responsible for overseeing all areas of outreach, resource production, digital presence, public relations, copywriting, product management, and events promotion. The Director of Marketing and Communications will partner with both Development and Program Departments to meet shared goals.

Keshet is the leading organization in the U.S. that works for LGBTQ inclusion in all facets of Jewish life – synagogues, Hebrew schools, day schools, youth groups, summer camps, social service organizations, and other communal agencies. Responsibilities:

Re-envision and execute Keshet’s overall Communications and Marketing strategies to update the look and feel of our communications, while maintaining the strengths of our brand.
Build Keshet’s Communications and Marketing team, defining roles and responsibilities, supervising Communications staff, and setting departmental goals consistent with Keshet’s budget.
Manage all areas of communications and marketing, outreach, copywriting, -, digital presence, public relations, and events promotion.
Work with outside vendors including graphic designers, printers, and others to create quality communications products while maintaining departmental and project budgets.
Work closely with events managers to create Keshet events that reflect the look and feel of Keshet.
Supervise social media staff to grow our online presence.
Partner with Development Department and Program Department to help them reach their goals throughCommunications.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Communications and Marketing with a proven record of accomplishment.
Strong commitment to and passion for the mission of Keshet.

Proven manager with a willingness to lead and talent and joy for mentoring staff.
Ability to articulate the importance of the organization’s work to people in the Jewish, LGBTQ, and LGBTQ Jewish communities.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of and experience with social media fundraising.
Knowledge of and experience in the organized Jewish community a plus.

Positive and fun outlook, and strong interpersonal skills and experience in establishing and cultivating strong relationships with colleagues, organizational partners, donors, and board members.
Ability to take initiative, set priorities, and to work independently and as a team player.

Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree is a plus.
