Baby2Baby provides low-income children ages 0-12 with diapers, clothing and all the basic necessities that every child deserves. By distributing to over 85 non-profit partner organizations including homeless and domestic violence shelters, Head Start programs, and children’s hospitals, Baby2Baby will serve over 100,000 children this year. Position

Reporting to the co-presidents (CP), the Deputy Director will help execute Baby2Baby’s long-term strategic plan while defining the processes and implementing the infrastructure/systems needed to support our growth over the next five to 10 years. S/he will continue to build and manage effective and streamlined administrative/financial systems, including financial, accounting, legal, information technology (IT), human resources (HR), grant reporting, regulatory compliance, contract management, board relations, strategic planning, and facilities management.

Specific responsibilities include:

Serve as a partner to Baby2Baby’s directors and CP on the organization’s financial, budgeting, and administrative processes with an eye to continuously developing and improving systems.
Understand the strategic plan deeply and how all teams should execute it.
Identify best practices and improve internal systems with an eye toward future needs and budgets.
Develop strategy around specific topics and emerging areas.
Represent Baby2Baby in industry-group conferences, professional associations and other public venues.
Partner with the CP in HR administration, including hiring, terminations, payroll and benefits for staff.
Oversee reporting, budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow activities throughout the year.
Coordinate the annual financial statement audit and other corporate regulatory compliance activities.
Oversee vendor relationships and related contract management.
Coordinate board meeting logistics and presentations to other stakeholders.
Manage the organization’s facilities and related systems (phone system, IT, security, cleaning, supplies, etc.).

Qualifications

The Deputy Director will have at least three to five years of professional experience, including managing the operations of a $2+ million organization (preference given to nonprofit experience). S/he will have experience creating and driving the analytic framework for planning and managing organizational change in a highly entrepreneurial organization.

The director of finance and operations will have the following experience and attributes:

Bachelor’s degree, plus MBA preferred.
Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team.
Demonstrated experience in financial management, ideally in the nonprofit sector.
Experience should include involvement in handling legal and compliance issues, audit and budget management, and resource development.
Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems.
Proven effectiveness leading professionals in finance.
Flexible and a self-starter; able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented.
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to Baby2Baby’s mission.
