Coordinator, Finance – Spence-Chapin Services to Families and Children – New York, NY

Reports to: Associate Director, Finance

Department: Finance

I. Primary Purpose

The Coordinator in the Finance Department reports directly to the Associate Director of Finance.

We are seeking a skilled, detail oriented candidate for the position of Coordinator. The ideal candidate must be organized, and have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

The Coordinator is responsible for accounts receivable, general ledger accounting and cash receipts.

II. Key Performance Indicators

Prepare and record daily cash/credit card deposits
Responsible for monthly invoicing, statement processing and collections
Record fee agreements
Managed care/medical billing
Assist with month-end closing
Reconcile disbursement and payroll bank accounts
Analyze and reconcile assigned balance sheet and revenue accounts
Prepare schedules for the annual audit and 990
Assist with budget cycle
Provide backup assistance for accounts payable and payroll
Participate in agency-wide events
Perform any other department or agency-related duties or special projects as directed by supervisor

IV. Education & Experience

BS degree in Accounting
Minimum three years’ accounting experience
Non-profit experience preferred

V. Technical Skills

MS Office –Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Salesforce
