Accounts Receivable Specialist – American Bird Conservancy – The Plains

Primary Duties:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for working on or assisting with an array of financial functions including: payroll daily deposits, accounts payable and other duties as assigned.
This position requires a broad knowledge of ABC programs and structure. Work requires initiative, flexibility, accuracy, and attention to detail. The post holder reports to the Finance Manager.
1. Generate the daily deposit journal entry to ensure proper coding into Accounting System. Submit checks to the bank via scan or deposit slips. Maintain the bank scanning system to ensure it works properly.
2. Coordinate with Membership as needed to ensure receivables in Development and Finance reconcile.
3. Generate deposit information from credit card deposit statements and other documentation
4. Check monthly debits and credits are posted to Accounting System timely and accurately to support bank statement reconciliations and assist with cash flow management.
5. Maintain accounts receivable file and records.
6. Maintain “Wire In” spreadsheet to record and track all incoming wires.
7. Maintain invoicing spreadsheet to detail Invoices sent to donors for payment. Monitor progress and payments on the accounting System
8. Assist in general financial management and analysis
9. Investigate and resolve any irregularities or enquiries
10. Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
· Associate’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
· 2-5 years’ work experience in similar role, or combination of education and experience (at least 1-year experience working with non-profit organization).
· Experience using accounting software
· Proficiency with office computers and equipment.
· Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel; knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs is preferred.
· Ability to work on deadline.
· Teamwork and collaboration skills
· Project management skills
· Attention to detail
· Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
· Background screening required
· Authorized to work in the U.S.
