Administrative Intern – Achieving the Dream – Silver Spring, MD

Duties

Lead front desk responsibilities, including welcoming guests and providing them with collateral material and refreshments, answering phones, distributing mail, responding to inquiries through info@AchievingtheDream.org, and signing for and shipping packages.
Assist the Assistant Director of Operations by helping with office administration, including coordinating facility and technology repair and upgrade requests, ordering supplies and maintaining office inventories, and managing the kitchen operations.
Support the Director of Meetings and Learning Events on all learning events, including the Kickoff Institute, DREAM, and the annual Coach & Data Coach Retreats.
Support the Assistant Director of Operations and Executive Assistant with overflow projects, including helping orient new colleagues, supporting Board logistics, and performing various research projects.
Other duties as requested.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Experience

Must be currently pursuing an Associate Degree or undergraduate degree
Computer proficiency in: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet search skills, PowerPoint, and ability to learn new applications quickly
Highly organized, with ability to multi-task
Assist with special event planning and organization
Ability to manage projects to schedule
Superb inter-personal skills and professional presence
Demonstrated ability to manage telephone calls and messages with confidence and professionalism
