About The White Plains Downtown District Management Association (WPDDMA)

The WPDDMA is a White Plains, NY based not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization. The WPDDMA manages a Business Improvement District (WPBID) in downtown White Plains. The WPBID is a geographic area in which business and property owners band together to use a municipality’s special assessment collection powers to assess additional funds to be used for improvements within the district. The WPDDMA has a street cleaning and beautification program, hosts major events to bring tourists and shoppers downtown, conducts business promotions and serves as a liaison to local government – see our website www.wpbid.com

Job Description

The WPDDMA is seeking a Graphic Designer to independently manage the design and production of all print and digital materials for BID events including posters, flyers, billboards, digital display signs, print ads and social media; create and produce visually pleasing and effective graphic designs and materials for the WPDDMA website, newsletter, annual report, business promotions, corporate presentations, sponsor decks, and social media campaigns. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, detail oriented, organized, highly motivated and be able to independently take ideas and develop them into useable concepts /designs. (S)he must be able to work collaboratively with WPDDMA staff, Board Members, business owners and city officials.

Other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the Executive Director.

This position reports to the Director of Events and Business Promotions and Executive Director.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design Visual Communication, Media Arts and Design or a related field

Three years of experience in print and digital design

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator and Mac platform, motion graphic and animation skills a plus but not required

Possesses strong skills in page layout, color theory, typography, and image/file usage and corporate identity/branding

Knowledge of different print procedures and practices

Familiarity with newspaper and magazine print ad requirements

Extensive experience designing and producing collateral materials including but not limited to flyers, posters, billboards, brochures, stationary, publications, PowerPoint Presentations, signage, web/digital graphics and other materials

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to source imagery

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines

Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite

Must attend all WPDDMA events and be able to work on occasional weekends and/or evenings when an event is held or when a deadline must be met

Experience using content management systems for websites and/or HTML a plus but not required

Experience using social media for marketing and promotion is desirable but not required

Salary Negotiable Depends upon Experience
