Communications / Outreach Coordinator – Foundation for Tacoma Students – Tacoma, WA

Summary

This position is responsible for supporting communications and public outreach to promote the mission and goals of a Tacoma-based educational non-profit, as well as coordinating the development and distribution of news announcements, website, collateral materials, reports, e-newsletters, and social media. The Communications & Outreach Director is responsible for developing strategy, overseeing and managing the day-to-day communications, outreach, and messaging of the organization.

Responsibilities and Duties

Creating and maintain communications tools
Development of collateral materials
Coordinate public outreach
Planning and implementation of short and long term communications goals to help influence the desired outcomes of various campaigns, programs and events.
Make strategic recommendations for social media presence/ engagement
Responsible for the production and distribution of new releases, announcements, educational brochures and other collateral materials as needed.
Utilize story telling as a strategy
Maintain website content
Create and find social media content
Manage all aspects of how the non-profit is represented through the website and other communication tools
Perform other duties as assigned

Experience/ Qualifications

3+ years of communications and outreach experience
Excellent written and verbal skills
Good presentation skills
Self-starter, able to work independently and as with a team
Social media experience
Bachelors or Masters Degree
