Senior Logistics Specialist – Maersk – Florham Park, Marlborough

The Senior Logistics Specialist (on site) is responsible for the operational activities of Damco’s business. The main role of that position is to provide timely first class customer service to TJX, assisting the setup of operations structure, monitoring the day-to-day operations of the TJX business and acting as a liaison between TJX headquarters and Damco’s origin offices.

The position is based in Marlborough, Massachusetts at TJX Companies’ premises.

Key responsibilities
Including but not limited to:
-Manage overall day-to-day operations (SCM, airfreight, LCL) for Damco’s business with TJX
-Manage service delivery between client, Damco origin offices, Shared Service Centers, Customer Resources Centers and/or other Damco Products where applicable, ensuring overall levels meet expectations and root cause fixes are implemented.
-Liaise with the Global Service Centers ensuring an exception monitoring structure is well-designed and executed in a timely manner. Where required, analyze gaps between operational service levels and data output from Damco reporting tools.
-Assist the Program Manager and the Account Director to develop KPI’s used for managing the business, proactively identifying and conveying information on opportunities for improvement. Creation and distribution of monthly KPI reports.
-Maintain ESOP updates and develop SOP for new services.
-Oversee the quality of invoicing; work closely with client to reduce outstanding receivables
-Create networks within client organization that are influential to ensure that client issues are being identified and addressed and to assure continuity in the account relationship.
-Work closely with the Program Manager and Account Director to ensure that Damco’s goals and objectives relating to client are achieved.
-Participate in special projects as requested by the Program Manager.
-Take ownership of operational and I.T. developments where necessary to meet mutually agreed requirements between Damco and client.
-Manage systems rollout and training (i.e. Damco visibility tools)
-Provide detailed analysis on ASN/EDI errors reports. This requires a strong understanding of origin operations, the client SOP and EDI mapping guidelines,which work concurrently

-Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations; adherence to company procedures and policies.
-Supports company commitment to ISO 9001, certification.
-Performs other position related duties as specified by management.

We are looking for
-High School Degree required, College degree preferred
-2+ years experience managing logistics operations
-Result-oriented self-starter with initiative and strong drive
-Client support experience. Origin experience with the TJX account will be considered an advantage

Technical Skills and Competencies Required
-Excellent customer service skills.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required as well as the ability to work in a high pressure environment.
-Excellent command of both oral and written English.
-Capacity to work independently, challenge status quo and act with proactiveness.
-Good command of commercial software, to include, but not be limited, to Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and SharePoint.
-Excellent understanding and experience with Damco proprietary systems knowledge including MODS, myDamco, and other APM systems as required.
