After School Program Coordinator – Search to Involve Pilipino Americans – Los Angeles, CA

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the After School Program Coordinator is responsible for developing and coordinating after school enrichment programs for SIPA youth. S/he is also responsible for managing all related enrollment, administrative and evaluation activities, as well as assisting the Program Manager with the administration of various health and human services contracts and grants.

Duties and Responsibilities: Plan and implement after school enrichment activities such as academit tutoring, computer lab, reading club, athletics, and arts and cultural activities; Supervise other after school staff, tutors, recreation aides and volunteers; Collaborate with counselors to implement empowerment workshops and assist counselors in scheduling individual counseling sessions with students; Maintain documentation and tracking system of clients by establishing direct communication with parents and school administrators/teachers; Implement all the evaluation tools required by contracts including pre/post test/surveys/report cards and other assessments of clients’ performances; Assist program manager with the administration of various HHS contracts and grants including funder inquiries, compiling and maintaining participation records, communication with program partners/collaborators, and maintaining various files, records, planning events and activities; Attend program and staff meetings and participate in staff development and training activities.

QUALIFICATIONS: BA degree in Social Science, Behavioral or Child Development, or equivalent experience; Minimum of 1 year experience in supervising staff; Minimum of 1 year in developing after school programs; Experience working with children and youth and their families; Working knowledge of recreational activities and sports; Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, collect and analyze data, organize and prioritize work assignments.

Good oral and written communication skills; fluency in Spanish highly desired; Computer skills (MS Word and Excel); Valid California Driver License; Background check required.
