Job Summary: This position provides administrative, client relations, and program development support for the Bridging the Gap interpreter training and licensing program.

DESCRIPTION

The Cross Cultural Health Care Program’s Bridging the Gap (BTG) medical interpreter training, taught since 1992, has prepared thousands of bilingual individuals across the world to be professional medical interpreters.

The program coordinator provides administrative, client relations, and program development support for the Bridging the Gap interpreter training and licensing program.

CCHCP works with organizations across the U.S. and overseas to promote culturally and linguistically appropriate health care services, and we have a creative culture that is highly collaborative and open. ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Coordinate for Bridging the Gap Program

Field phone calls and emails regarding BTG training and licensing programs
Work with manager to order materials and prepare for training sessions
Create, maintain and track current BTG records and training files using Salesforce
Import data into Salesforce and support Salesforce implementation
Create certificates for BTG participants and licensed agencies
Update BTG-related information on CCHCP website
Assist with recruitment for training programs

Program Development and Promotion

Coordinate development and maintenance of a national network of BTG licensed organizations and trainers
Stay up to date on developments in cross-cultural health care, interpreting, and publications
Maintain and create publicity materials and standardized communications
Attend conferences and trainings as needed; some travel and weekend work required
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the executive director

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND INTERESTS:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Bachelor’s degree

Superior organizational abilities and attention to detail

Demonstrated flexibility and ability to manage multiple deadlines, priorities, and ongoing projects

Proven record as a successful team player in a multicultural work environment

Friendly and customer-service oriented

Strong commitment and enthusiasm for the field of medical interpreting and publications

Ability to work independently and complete projects on a deadline

Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

PREFERRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND INTERESTS:

Bilingual/Spanish speaker

Training and experience as a medical interpreter

Experience with Salesforce

Creatively seek ways to improve existing standards and practices

Interest and experience in writing

Bachelor’s degree in a related field

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Office and community environment

Occasional travel and weekend work required

Other CCHCP departments

Local, national, and international health care institutions, language agencies, and community organizations

PHYSICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL DEMANDS:

High need for seeing (visual acuity), hearing, light lifting, and speaking, as well as manual dexterity

Moderate need for standing and walking

Some demand for stooping, reaching, light lifting, and traveling to internal and external meetings and trainings

Position includes work pressure from multiple deadlines

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a full-time position for 40 hours per week. Regular work hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Some work outside of these hours will be required.

SALARY: $19.50 per hour.
