National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable (NVHR)
Position Announcement

Location: Telecommute based in the U.S., with D.C. office option
Reports to: Program Director
Expected Start Date: March 1, 2017 or sooner
Posted: December 13, 2016. Candidates will not be contacted before January 9, 2017.
The National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable (NVHR) is a coalition of approximately 500 member organizations working to fight, and ultimately end, the hepatitis B and C epidemics in the United States. NVHR believes this goal can be achieved by addressing stigma and health disparities, removing barriers to prevention, care, and treatment, and ensuring respect and compassion for all affected communities. NVHR seeks an aggressive response from policymakers, public health officials, medical and health care providers, the media, and the general public through its advocacy, education, and technical assistance. NVHR is a fiscally sponsored project of Community Initiatives, a San Francisco-based nonprofit organization that provides fiscal sponsorship to large and small nonprofit programs and organizations.
NVHR is seeking a Program Coordinator to support and help expand NVHR’s program. The goal of NVHR’s program is to provide persons at risk for hepatitis C with the necessary information and education to prevent infection, and to promote testing so that persons living with hepatitis C are aware of their status, linked into appropriate health care, and ultimately cured of the disease. NVHR’s program identifies and shares best practices among community groups, patients, health care providers, public health practitioners, and industry partners in order to leverage experience and disseminate the best strategies for preventing hepatitis C infections and identifying, treating, and curing individuals living with the virus. NVHR’s program also awards mini-grants to community groups working on hepatitis C awareness, screening, and linkage to care projects. Qualified candidates should send resume and cover letter to Tina Broder, Program Director, tbroder@nvhr.org. Subject line should read “Program Coordinator” only.

Responsibilities:
The Program Coordinator will report to and support the Program Director with defining, planning, and executing NVHR’s program activities. The Program Coordinator will support NVHR activities focused on implementation of hepatitis C screening and linkage to care projects; tracking and reporting of technical assistance activities; conducting outreach to health departments, health care providers, and community partner programs for information collection and dissemination; coordinating webinars; and supporting, planning, and executing meetings and technical assistance activities.
• Program Grant Support: Participate in and take notes during project calls and complete necessary follow-up to support NVHR’s funded grant projects, which include a project to expand the number of health care providers engaged in hepatitis C programming and advocacy work and a partnership with three harm reduction groups to identify strategies to overcome barriers to hepatitis C education and treatment access faced by people who use drugs.
• Program Research and Outreach: Conduct research on health care providers and others in academia working on topic areas relevant to hepatitis C and create outreach strategies to engage them in NVHR’s program work. Conduct literature reviews as needed to support development of NVHR materials and grant writing and serve as a resource for NVHR members and partners on hepatitis C programs.
• Mini-Grants Coordination: Collect and review mini-grant applications; communicate with grant applicants to offer feedback on their project proposals; participate in and take notes during calls with grantees; provide support in updating and maintaining the webpage; share relevant resources with grantees; and collect final reports from grantees.
• Partner Calls: Participate in and take extensive notes during NVHR’s Hepatitis C Working Group and Pharmacy Working Group calls, draft high-level meeting minutes and reference notes, and distribute notes via listserv and website. Participate in and take notes during calls with new partners to become more familiar with partners’ projects, needs, and general work; connect them with relevant resources; and complete whatever follow-up is deemed necessary, such as adding new partners to the listserv or sharing materials.
• Webinars: Prepare for program webinars by developing promotional materials and conducting outreach to advertisers, participating in administration of webinars, archiving materials, and compiling evaluation results and analytics.
• Communications: Provide research and writing support for fact sheets, program materials, and other content for the website, newsletter, and blog.
• Other Projects: Work on other projects as needed, including developing and distributing an annual program survey to NVHR’s membership and researching and writing grant proposals and reports. Participate in NVHR staff meetings, Steering Committee calls and meetings, and strategic planning activities.
