Executive Director – Children’s Nutrition Program of Haiti

DESCRIPTION
The Executive Director (ED) leads the operations of the Children’s Nutrition Program of Haiti (CNP) in the USA and Haiti. The ED is responsible for developing, marketing and managing programs; directing communications within CNP including Haitian partners and staff, with outside groups, and donors; fundraising, and responsible management of finances, including timely reporting; evaluating program effectiveness; and developing and maintaining a close working relationship with the Board of Directors. This position is based in Chattanooga, TN.

Responsibilities
In partnership with the Board of Directors, establishes long and short range plans, policies, goals and objectives and performs independently within the guidelines of the Articles of Incorporation and the related Bylaws
Directs, guides and works with the Haiti based Country Program Director. Working in collaboration with the Haiti based Country Program Director, leads and supervises the development of new program activities
Works with the Development Director to identify, solicit, and manage current and potential donors including maintenance of effective communication and ongoing relationships with donors regarding the use of their funds
Writes, maintains and manages grants
Presents results of research/program activities with evidence based criteria in a variety of public and private venues and provides for dissemination in scholarly journals as well as in-house publications
Occasional travel to Haiti and US sites and professional meetings as needed to support program activities and development
Prepares and presents an annual budget, with collaboration from the Finance Director and the Country Program Director, to the Board of Directors and assures that the Board receives accurate monthly financial reports
Oversees the monitoring and evaluation of all programs
Produces regular publications, web based products, annual reports, newsletters and funding development materials
Works with Haiti staff to produce daily high quality social media postings
Reports to the Board of Directors

Desired Skills & Experience
A graduate degree such as an MBA, MPH or equivalent degree desired
Prior experience in an Executive Director role desirable
Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communications including persuasive presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal skills as well as the desire and proven capacity to develop and nurture ongoing donor relationships; interact effectively with staff, professional partners and colleagues; and work collaboratively with the Board of Directors
Professional level experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
French or Haitian Creole language skills beneficial

Organization Description
The Children’s Nutrition Program (CNP) of Haiti was founded in 1998 and is a recognized NGO in the country of Haiti. CNP is a non-demonitional Christian based public health organization assisting in the nutritional and health needs of children, expectant mothers and families throughout the Leogane region. CNP hires and trains local women to work as community health workers and resource leaders throughout their communities in fighting childhood malnutrition.
CNP carries out these activities under the banner of their mission:
To improve the health and development of Haitian children, particularly those suffering from malnutrition, who can in turn raise Haiti from poverty.
