Director of Project DVORA (Domestic Violence) – Jewish Family Service – Seattle, WA

Jewish Family Service is seeking a Director of Project DVORA (Domestic Violence Outreach Response and Advocacy). This full-time (37.5 hours per week) position will provide leadership and administer our domestic violence advocacy, outreach and education program. The vision of Project DVORA is to create the conditions in the Jewish community to support loving, safe, and respectful relationships, and build the capacity in the community to respond to domestic abuse.

We are looking for a compassionate, caring person to fill this vital role and continue to carry out the vision of Project DVORA.

Responsibilities include: program administration, community speaking and community building with leaders and organizations; program development training and consultation to JFS staff and Jewish communal leaders and organizations; developing strategies for educating and sensitizing the Jewish lay leader community on issues related to domestic violence. As needed, the director will provide direct service (information and referral, counseling, advocacy and support groups) for domestic violence victims/survivors.

Qualifications include:

Minimum of 5 years of experience working with domestic and family violence
BA in social services, psychology, or related field; Master’s degree or equivalent in mental health strongly preferred
Knowledge of Jewish practices and sensitivity to Jewish culture
Familiarity with organized Jewish community
