Director, Information Technology and Operations – Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids – Washington

Overview:
The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (TFK) is a Washington. D.C. based global nonprofit working to improve world health. With staff and consultants working domestically and internationally, TFK seeks to hire a visionary IT Director to oversee and transform its in-house network to a cloud-based platform, integrate current technology strategy, and supervise key IT staff. This is a high-level managerial and operations position leading the broad infrastructure of the Department. The Director will supervise top IT staff and consultants, plan and approve IT operations, functionality, and budget and ensure best practices with open communicated to management and staff.

Responsibilities:
• Understand and report organizational needs and goals.
• Plan and implement a cloud first strategy that addresses bandwidth issues while automating and enhancing the platform.
• Manage infrastructure, staffing and effectiveness of the IT Department.
• Ensure system stability, operation, and scalability.
• Create and establish technical standards regarding platforms, frameworks and roadmaps.
• Provide leadership over staff, programs, policies and procedures for IT infrastructure, operations and security.
• Budget management: Manage IT expense and operating budget, overseeing purchases of hardware/software products.
· Make recommendations on information technology trends and best practices.

Required Skills/Experience:
• BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration or related field, MS preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in IT, IT Compliance, IT Operations, Security/Risk, Staff management and Program Development.
• Experience managing IT employees, preferably in a non-profit setting and supporting technology at an international organization.
• Thorough understanding of IT security operations, risk management, endpoint protection, loss prevention and new procedure implementation Information Technology, compliance, risk assessment, encryption technologies, firewall, endpoint security, implementation, and data loss prevention.
• High level experience in LAN administration including experience with Active Directory, Office365, and Exchange.
• Ability to evaluate current or developing technologies to consider for implementation weighing cost, compatibility, and usability.
• Experience with Internet technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, WWW, HTML, AND Firewall solutions.
• Excellent knowledge of Windows, Mac, VMware, Apple OS, iOS, Google Android.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal; able to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Current Security certifications required.
