Development Manager, Regional Foundations – Fresh Films – Rock Island

Position Summary
Development Manager, Regional Foundations
Fresh Films is looking for a passionate, self-motivated professional to identify, cultivate and mobilize donor resources primarily from regional foundations prioritizing Arts/Arts Education, BIPOC initiatives, Career Pathways and Youth Workforce Development. They should have a proven track record of growing contributed revenue and meeting fundraising goals and are willing and excited to roll up sleeves and build the development slate of new regional donors. Fresh Films operates in 18 states, but regional development outreach will initially be focused in Fresh Films’ core markets of Atlanta, Los Angeles, Boston and Chicago, but will grow to additional regions. Previous work in these markets and/or with arts and/or youth and workforce development, and college/career pathway funders is a plus. As with most development positions, this position may require some travel. Role and Responsibilities
Build relationships and seek funding from NEW regional donors that align with our mission
Actively outreach, cultivate and steward new contributions through research, email and phone outreach, in-person meetings and active follow up before and after grants
Maintain an active annual calendar of grant opportunities and reporting deadlines as well details on grantors (grants management)
Work with FF grant writer to best position Fresh Films for the foundation’s giving strategy, assist in drafting grant applications, review/approve applications and final reports.
Innovate with Director of Development + Managing Director to identify new opportunities for program expansion and funding that might meet donor needs (i.e sponsorship or government)
Work with in-house grant administrator to submit necessary donor processing, tracking, reports
Drafts quarterly updates to foundation program officers.
Be able to passionately share Fresh Films mission with the ability to connect Fresh Films’ work and partnerships into the larger landscape of arts & film, youth development, workforce development and DEI
Collaborate with appropriate staff on the development of needed supplementary materials for grant applications including budgets, work samples, evaluation and assessment data, etc.
Coordinates and participates in meetings with foundation program officers, acting as point of contact for coordinating site visits and other meets as appropriate.
Coordinate with other FF departments when receiving a grant to ensure donor is acknowledged and all follow up deliverables are met

Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in fundraising with emphasis on foundation fundraising; with preferred experience with larger or regional funders in arts education or workforce development
Demonstrated ability to prospect, solicit, secure and manage 20+ grants yearly
Demonstrated ability to grow foundation resources through cultivating, building and managing donor relationships through calls, emails, meetings and other engagements
Self-motivated with ability to meet deadlines and goals while working independently on multiple prospects / grants concurrently; while communicating with the Natl. Director of Development (remote)
Outstanding written and communication skills (including phone) with the ability to listen generously, meet and learn from prospective and existing program officers, articulate complex programs, present meaningful funding opportunities, and report on progress and outcomes.
Solutions-oriented and intellectually curious with a passion to uncover opportunities
Knowledge of google-drive doc and sheet sharing a must; knowledge of Grant Hub, or related grants and project management databases a plus.

NOTE: The job is focused on foundation outreach and engagement; individual giving and major gifts experience a plus but not necessary.

The position will travel as necessary, locally and regionally to conduct meetings with Program Officers
Some evening or weekend work may be required to attend productions or donor events
Would additionally require travel 4x per year to FF headquarters in Rock Island, IL. All travel paid for by Fresh Films;
