CLINICAL SUPERVISOR

Position Title: Clinical Supervisor

Reports to: Executive Director

Supervises: Program Staff

Compensation: Competitive salary and benefits package

Classification: Regular Full-Time, Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for managing, supervising, and providing case management for AHA/SF’s programs including, but not limited to, housing counseling, emergency housing, financial services, and job training and supportive employment. This position will ensure documentation of individual case notes and achievement of program outcomes, and assist with reporting to funders. The Clinical Supervisor will conduct community outreach to drive awareness and engagement with services, and is responsible for assisting the Executive Director in evaluating and improving programming.

ORGANIZATION PROFILE: Founded in 2004, AHA has been at the forefront advocating for the housing needs of the LGBTQ and HIV communities for over a decade, directly preventing or ending homelessness for over 2500 households and passing local legislation to curb displacement and homelessness. We are proud that the majority of our staff have been HIV+.

Our programs include:

Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing: housing case management, affordable housing application assistance, tenant’s rights counseling, and landlord mediation.
Financial Services: back-rent to prevent eviction, move-in deposits to cure homelessness, emergency hotel vouchers, short-term and needs-based rental subsidies.
Job Training & Supportive Employment: AHA Café is our job training and supportive employment site located on campus at UC Hastings College of Law.
Public Policy Advocacy: Imagine and successfully advocate achieving public policy that removes barriers to housing for all people.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide leadership, clinical supervision, and support to 7+ staff members, interns, and volunteers who serve approximately 1,000 members of the LGBTQ or HIV+ communities annually.
Plan and implement overall program activities in accordance with AHA mission and goals.
Provide support for program development and research. Identify, develop and implement opportunities, participate in creating strategic plans for growth.
Implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve successful outcomes.
Implement program evaluation framework to assess strengths and areas for improvement.
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with partner agencies and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
With the Executive Director, make public presentations on behalf of the program to key community stakeholders, including publicly elected officials.
Develop and co-facilitate community workshops on affordable housing, financial literacy, life skills development, and other topic areas.
Ensure that activities operate within policies and procedures and professional standards.
Enhance forms and systems to document program activities.
Monitor activities to ensure effective and efficient service delivery while staying within budgetary limits.
Recruit, train and supervise staff and volunteers and manage performance.
Review and approve Individual Housing Plans created by program staff.
Oversee quarterly chart audits and track chart compliance.
Ensure workload is distributed equitably by monitoring overtime and task assignments.
Write reports as needed and conduct annual program evaluation.
Provide case management utilizing agency Intake and Assessment database to develop individual housing plans; ensure housing plan implementation and ongoing support services and counseling.
Other duties as assigned.
This job requires working occasional evenings and weekends.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Master’s degree in social work, public health, or other related field; LCSW, MFT or PsyD. strongly preferred.
At least three years experience in nonprofit program supervision; housing experience preferred.
Knowledge of San Francisco specialized programs, including housing, homelessness, HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, mental health, and LGBT services.
Ability to multi-task and thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
Proactive, positive approach to problem solving; critical thinking skills.
Computer and office skills; strong math skills; comfort with File Maker Pro, Excel, Word, MS Office, databases.
Demonstrates the necessary attitude, knowledge, and skills to deliver services with cultural affinity and to work effectively with diverse populations, especially people with HIV/AIDS, all genders and orientations, and those experiencing crisis, homelessness, poverty, disability, or behavioral health needs.
A thorough understanding, enthusiasm, and commitment to agency mission and activist principles to achieve social change and economic justice.
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Capacity to develop and maintain open, friendly, professional interpersonal relationships with internal and external colleagues.
Exceptional organizational, time management and supervision skills.
Strong oral and written skills.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and prioritize to meet deadlines.
