Event / Project Coordinator – Oregon Humanities – Portland, OR

The Oregon Humanities team is a small group of idealistic, creative, idea- and conversation-seeking people who think of the humanities as tools for engagement, connection, and change. We specialize in bringing Oregonians together across differences and backgrounds, because we believe sharing ideas and listening to one another makes Oregon a more connected, more imaginative, more vital place to live.

We are looking for a temporary, part-time Event and Project Coordinator to work on Oregon Humanities programs that are part of a year-long NEH grant-funded “Common Good” initiative, with a special focus on events. Through this work, the coordinator will help OH deliver a statewide set of programs that offer Oregonians opportunities to think and talk with one another about ideas of power, place, home, and belonging.

Oregon Humanities values equity, justice, empathy, and respect as key attributes of vital, flourishing communities. We encourage applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds, particularly those from historically underrepresented groups, whose professional and personal experiences will help us work toward our vision of an Oregon that invites diverse perspectives, explores challenging questions, and strives for just communities.
