POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Summary: The program manager oversees all aspects of running a licensed home that serves 15 adults with developmental disabilities. The program manager reports to the executive director. The day to day management includes running a team of 8 staff, interfacing with parents, social workers, and other health and human services agencies. The responsibilities range from client advocacy to coaching staff and clients to activity coordination to facility maintenance. Additionally, you are an integral member of the organization’s management team.

Essential Functions:

Supervision

Provides initial orientation and training for new staff
Actively works to create team harmony and cohesion
Creates weekly staff schedule
Oversees staff meetings and provide ongoing training

Program Administration

Interviews and hires new staff
Works to implement programming and training that is client centered and driven
Guides staff as they teach and support clients with activities of daily living
Stays current with progressive trends in the field
Takes responsibility for staying within the program budget
Ensures compliance with all state regulations

Liaison With Other Stakeholders

Works with the Regional Center to support clients
Assists clients in managing healthcare and health insurance
Works with Social Security on behalf of clients

QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelors degree, preferably in Social Work or a degree in Gerontology, Psychology or Counseling
Individuals without a degree, but with appropriate work experiences, may be considered.
Minimum of two years management experience
Must be able to pass a criminal records background check
A valid Drivers License
