Girl Scouts of Western Washington (GirlScoutsWW.org) is seeking a Diversity Education and Training Manager. This position is responsible for the development and delivery of education, training, and programming, including but not limited to inclusion, equity, diversity education/awareness, and intercultural competency. Under the guidance of the Diversity Director, the Diversity Education and Training Manager should be able to work independently, in a highly organized manner, and be able to prioritize their workload while working in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions:
In collaboration with the Diversity Director, Cultural Responsiveness Project Team, Regional Diversity Managers, and Learning Department research, design, and implement diversity, equity, inclusion, and intercultural competency trainings for Girl Scouts staff and volunteers.

In collaboration with the Diversity Director, Cultural Responsiveness Project Team, and Learning Department design and facilitate train-the-trainer sessions for staff on how to engage others in learning about race and racism and how to apply racial equity tools.

Research and stay up-to-date on racial equity training and facilitation, including emerging information and best practices related to brain science, organizational change, racial justice movements, and intersections between race and gender, sexuality, ability, class, religion, and other forms of identity that may be impacted by structural oppression.

Coordinate diversity, equity, and inclusion onboarding for new employees.

Support the implementation of the Girls Scouts of Western Washington’s strategic diversity, equity, and inclusion initiative.

Serve on committees related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, including but not limited to Equity Committee.

Provide resources and assistance related to diversity, equity, and inclusion to Girl Scouts staff and volunteers as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in related field, plus 3 years work experience or the equivalent education and work experience
· Experience managing or supporting diversity and equity-related projects across multiple staffing levels
· Experience facilitating discussions, developing curriculum, and successfully facilitating trainings related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and intercultural competency
· Experience working and learning collaboratively within a variety of racial, ethnic, and culturally diverse communities
· Current or recent active involvement in the diversity and equity field and community
· Involvement in the nonprofit sector and youth development field desired
· Previous experience managing or supporting volunteers preferred
· Demonstrated experience developing and operationalizing strategies
· Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal communication skills
· Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people and across multiple organizational channels, departments, and cross-functional teams
· Ability to demonstrate a commitment to support the organization’s efforts to enhance the awareness, knowledge, and skills of volunteers, girls, and staff on issue of diversity, equity, inclusion, and intercultural competency
· Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize deadlines, work independently, take initiative, and maintain confidentiality in a fast paced and challenging work environment
· Availability to work varied hours, including nights and weekends, as necessary
· Availability and willingness to regularly travel and work from our service areas, primarily – Snohomish, King, Pierce and Kitsap counties
· Ability and willingness to work remotely or from a home office, on occasion
· Skilled in Outlook, Word, and Excel, and familiarity with Access or other database system
· Valid Washington State driver’s license, vehicle in working condition, proof of insurance and the ability to fulfill timely and extensive travel requirements across widespread regional geography
· Satisfactory results from criminal background search
· Willingness to maintain membership in Girl Scouts
