(Senior) Policy Advisor – Libertas Foundation – Washington

Description:
Libertas is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of (Senior) Policy Advisor. The Policy Advisor for Libertas will work closely with the growing Libertas team. The Policy Advisor’s primary responsibility is to research and analyze the policies in the US and Foreign policy space and for the planning, implementation, managing and running of all the memos, proposals, and white papers. This individual should be a hardworking professional seasoned in the federal policy environment, but also exhibit creativity in dynamic, start-up environment. The position reports to the President and CEO of Libertas.

Responsibilities:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders in U.S. and foreign entities
Preparing written reports, briefing notes, memoranda, white papers, and other written requests
Relationship management of established nonprofit 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 partners in the ecosystem
Monitoring foreign policy agenda, analyzing outcomes, and identifying obstacles to success
Providing recommendations to officials and policymakers on briefings and correspondence
Analyzing, sourcing, and reviewing information to formulate and propose policy recommendations
Keeping up to date with legislative agendas and regulatory reviews or reforms
Developing more effective strategies and communicate these changes to those in charge
Ability and willingness to travel internationally for meetings with prospective and existing partners and stakeholders
Contacting potential clients to prospect and establish business relationships
Help with recruiting new staff members when necessary
Work directly with CEO and executive leadership team to develop strategic policy and research plan

Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively and delegate when necessary

Qualifications:
Education: Minimum of Master’s degree required; preferred 7+ years of experience
Strong understanding of and demonstrated track record in working on policy
Previous process and/or people management experience a plus
Ability to demonstrate interviews, executive statistical analyses, and do market research is a plus
Government/government-adjacent (think-tank, policy non-profit, or similar) experience preferred
Project management training or demonstrated project management experience preferred
Proven exceptional English written and verbal communications skills
