Receptionist – East LA Community Corporation – Los Angeles, CA

East LA Community Corporation is seeking a Receptionist. The receptionist will have extensive contact with ELACC staff members, tenants living in ELACC housing developments, and members of the public. This position pays a key role in ensuring effective and efficient office operations. The receptionist reports to the Director of Office Operations and will provide clerical support to the entire organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs clerical duties including answering the phones, taking messages, data imput,photocopying, faxing, and mailing
Provide callers with information such as company address, directions to the company location, company fax numbers, company website, upcoming events, and other related information
Opens, dates and distributes mail
Coordinates delivery of express mail services (FedEX,UPS,etc)for the administration department
Manages calendar for meeting rooms
Maintains and troubleshoots all office equipment
Schedules office equipment maintenance as requested
Maintains an inventory of supplies, technology hardware and software, and orders office supplies as needed
Assists in purchasing of hardware and software
Backs up data server and run virus scans on all network computers when needed
Prepares vendor payments and check requests
Process purchase orders
Maintain log of incoming checks and route as necessary
Keeps postage meter filled
Performs other relevant duties as assigned by the Director of Office Operations
Support the Executive Assistance on logistics for Board Meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:

AA degree or minimum 3 years of experience of administrative and clerical procedures
Previous experience in a non-profit environment a plus
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
Highly motivated
Ability to handle confidential information
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in computer database entry, and in Microsoft Office Sweet
Internet research skills
Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as a team member and with a difersified client base
Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines
Extremely organized and able to multi-task
Have a reliable transportation
Bilingual in English/Spanish
Most have valid CA driver’s license, automobile with insurance

Salary:

$12-$15 an hour, DOE
