P/T Executive Assistant – The Circus Project – Portland, OR

The Circus Project, located on the edge of the Pearl District, is seeking a temporary (6-9 months likely) executive assistant to support the Founder & Artistic Director during the organization’s transition to a new facility: a stage manager of sorts – in an office role. This is a great opportunity to be at the epicenter of a major organizational transition, and a crash course in nonprofit management.

Hours: 20/wk with the possibility to increase

Pay: $12.50/hr

Filter, draft & write emails on behalf of Artistic Director
Draft marketing material, press releases, newsletters, blog
Make calls as needed
Do errands as needed
Project management
Solicit in-kind donations, call donors
Take notes at meetings, etc.
Assistant produce shows and events
Create spreadsheets, press packets, board packets, etc.
Other administrative tasks as necessary


Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Incredibly organized and demonstrated experience moving multiple projects forward at once
Excels at excel
Incredibly prompt
Very fast learner. Can be told once what to do and run with it.
Stay calm in a sometimes stressful, chaotic, high-paced environment
Sense of humor & optimistic outlook
Exceedingly flexible; willingness to do whatever is needed
Thorough note-taker
Must have own vehicle and computer
Excellent references


Prior experience with project management or as a personal or executive assistant
Marketing and/or fundraising experience
Love of the arts and passionate about social justice
Event/production experience
Interest or experience in nonprofit management
