ITEP develops innovative programs that integrate internships and career mentoring with the curriculum of high schools throughout Southern California.

Job ResponsibilitiesThe Program Assistant provides support to the Program Managers who are the key link between ITEP, industry, schools and the community. Candidates with appropriate public or corporate experience are encouraged to apply. • Assists Program Managers in leading ITEP’s Ten Point Program implementation for Harbor region (Carson, Gardena, Long Beach, and South Los Angeles) high schools (See details on ITEP website). • Assists in the effective involvement of ITEP stakeholders — industry, educators and students.
•Assists in the implementation of the ITEP internship program. • Supports Program Managers in establishing an active in-school presence for assigned program schools. • Assists in scheduling and coordinating events and facilitate ongoing meetings with industry advisory board members related to program implementation. • Provides administrative support to Program Managers, assists in the preparation of reports and provides communication regarding program, results/accomplishments as needed. • Works directly for the Program Managers and under the general supervision of the Chief Operating Officer to support ITEP partners including participating high schools, colleges and their international trade, transportation and logistics industry supporters.
Candidate Qualifications• Undergraduate degree required. • Experience in coordinating activities for high school students. • Strong written and oral communication skills.
•Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment. • Ability to work using a team approach in a joint high school, business and college setting. • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. • Ability to work flexible hours including some nights and weekends.
• Ability to commute to the Los Angeles Harbor Area and Long Beach on a regular basis.
• Ability to drive a motor vehicle and have both a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance as required by law
Job activities for this position occur primarily in the Los Angeles Harbor area.
