Development Coordinator – Apex for Youth – New York

JOB OVERVIEW
The Development Coordinator is a full-time position responsible for supporting all development department initiatives including: fundraising event support, gift processing, general administration and data entry.
The Development Coordinator reports to the Director of Development and Associate Director of Development and is part of a growing development team. The ideal candidate will be extremely organized, detail oriented, have great communication skills and enjoy working in a small team environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide general administrative, organizational and project support to the entire development team.
Manage donation/gift processing including forms production, invoicing, timely gift entry, donor acknowledgement, data integrity, and database maintenance.
Working closely with the Operations Department to ensure Development revenue records are accurate and maintain reporting integrity.
Support special events including vendor relationships and coordination, project management, and day-of event logistics/support.
Maintain/support organizational event documents including: production timeline, run of show, event specific trackers, and RSVPs/seating.
Engage in research on prospective donors, corporate partners and foundations to support development strategy and activities.
Provide general departmental administrative support such as calendar maintenance, meeting scheduling, expense management, and follow ups.
Communicate with board members, donors, and vendors in a professional manner and take detailed minutes during meetings and conference calls.
Support with supervision and training of interns and volunteers around Development activities.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with a hospitality and customer-service orientation toward internal stakeholders as well as external vendors and clients.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Superior attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and efficiently under strict deadlines.
Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends around special events.
Other qualifications:
Ability to be proactive, not reactive, and to think strategically across multiple, concurrent projects.
A problem-solver that is solution-oriented.
Ability to prioritize a large volume of tasks.
Strong google spreadsheets/excel skills a large plus.
Familiarity with donor software, particularly Salesforce, a large plus.
Social media, website management, and marketing experience a plus.
Paid time off: In the first year of employment, you will be eligible for roughly a combined 40 days of vacation, holiday, personal, and sick leave (10 vacation days, 12 paid federal holidays, org-wide closures for one week over the winter holidays and one week during the Fourth of July, 5 sick days per year, 3 personal days a year). Additional vacation days accrue according to years worked in the organization.

Salary range: The salary range for this position is $50,000-$56,000, depending on experience.
