Let’s Get Ready (LGR) is a dynamic and fast growing non-profit committed to increasing college access and success for under-served youth. Harnessing the power and expertise of motivated college students, LGR guides and equips high school students through the college admissions process and continues to support them while in college. Providing intensive SAT preparation and key assistance with college selection, applications and financial aid/scholarship opportunities, LGR fills a critical gap in college access and success support.
Founded in 1998 by a Harvard undergraduate and initially supported with seed funding and significant support from the College Board, LGR has assisted more than 20,000 high school students through the college admissions process. In 2014, with the assistance of 1,200 college students, LGR ran over 90 programs serving over 3,600 high school students.
LGR’s central office is based in New York City, but programs are run throughout the northeast with the assistance of a regional office in Boston. Over the last 2 years, programs have doubled and continued expansion and program enhancements are key priorities.
