Admin Assistant – Manufacturing Skill Standards Council – Alexandria, VA

MSSC is a non-profit located in North Old Town. We are seeking an Administrative Assistant whose primary function will be to answer the main telephone line as well as other light administrative duties.

Duties:

Answer phones, take messages and direct calls to appropriate individuals
Answer basic questions from customers, direct to answers on website
Assist with contact management: work with Hoover’s database, Constant Contact and Outlook
Perform basic internet research as needed
Prepare meeting materials
Provide other general admin support as needed

Additional duties may include:

Make travel arrangements
Make follow up calls/sent follow up emails as needed (under supervision)
Sort mail
Order office supplies
Prepare and update basic reports
Point of contact for building (submit work orders, keys, parking)

Skill Requirements:

Strong verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail and good organization skills
IT Skills: Microsoft Office Suite (required), internet research, database systems (preferred), QuickBooks (preferred)

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree
1-2 years office experience
