Outreach / Communications Manager – Clean Coalition – Denver, CO

The Clean Coalition is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to accelerate the transition to renewable energy and a modern grid through technical, policy, and project development expertise.

We are hiring an Outreach & Communications Manager. The right candidate will be entrepreneurial, creative, a fast learner and familiar with the electric utility industry. This position is based in Denver, Colorado.

As Outreach & Communications Manager, you will work in close collaboration with the Outreach & Communications Director on a wide range of activities. From developing our communications strategy to engaging stakeholders, you help grow the visibility and impact of the organization. Your focus will be on educating key constituents about the power of local renewable energy. Through this work, you will help transform the U.S. electrical grid to provide cleaner, more reliable and more affordable power.


Support the development of an effective communications strategy
Develop external facing communications, including highly visible news articles, press releases, webinars, and graphics
Conduct detailed research on the U.S. electric sector, including technologies, policies, and market developments
Cultivate partnerships with electric utilities
Manage digital communications and operations, including our web presence

Minimum Qualifications

BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
Evidence of high-quality work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Excellent communications skills – on paper and in-person
Ability to work independently with little direction, and also work collaboratively with a team
A passion for accelerating the transition towards renewable energy
A commitment to continuous learning and improvement

Strongly Preferred

Experience in the renewable energy and/or electric sector
An understanding of key energy policies, particularly net energy metering and feed-in tariffs
Proficiency with Salesforce, WordPress, Google AdWords + Analytics, Vertical Response, Adobe Creative Suite, Facebook and Twitter Application
