Marketing / Advancement Associate – Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit

Introduction Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit High School is looking for dedicated staff to help lead the foundation of our school. We opened our doors in 2014 as a part of the 28 school network with the following mission:

By providing students an excellent college preparatory education and a unique four-year, integrated corporate work study experience, we seek to help transform urban America.

Since the founding of the first school in Chicago in 1996, the Cristo Rey model has become one of the most innovative and successful educational programs in the nation, serving over 9,000 students in 27 other cities.

Cristo Rey San Jose provides underserved students with a rigorous college prep Jesuit Catholic Education. We are at Five Wounds Parish on E. Santa Clara St. and Highway 101 serving East and Downtown San Jose students.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Marketing and Advancement Associate is responsible for supporting all marketing and advancement functions of the school including fundraising, marketing communications and public relations. Working closely with the Advancement Manager, primary duties include:

Administrative support of the fundraising operation:

Primary manager of the CRM database
Track donations, thank you letters and e-communications
Schedule and support meetings and events

Marketing Communications

Manage web site content; ensure timely updates
Post announcements and other content across social media platforms
Create marketing collateral and promotional materials
Create and distribute newsletter

Public Relations

Write and distribute press releases
Identify and pursue media opportunities
Awards submissions

Qualifications

Successful applicants will embody the mission-commitment, intellectual curiosity, openness to growth, optimism, and zest that are central to the character of our team. In addition, they will meet or exceed the following requirements:

Bachelor’s degree/emphasis in marketing, communications or related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with graphic design software and Salesforce.com preferred
Event management and support experience a plus

Salary

Placement on a salary scale commensurate on education and years of experience.
