Annual Giving Coordinator

DAWN’s mission is to lead and support efforts in south King County communities to end domestic violence by providing the critical services and education for survivors to make informed choices about their future and engaging communities to raise awareness and take action.

Overview of Position

The Annual Giving Coordinator is an essential development team member for building and growing an effective annual giving program at DAWN. S/He will work collaboratively with the Development Director, staff and volunteers to plan, develop and implement a coordinated program of fundraising and donor cultivation to ensure DAWN’s ongoing success.

Job Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage a comprehensive annual fund program designed to broaden DAWN’s donor base and increase overall participation and financial support to the Annual Fund
As a member of the Development team, create and integrate fundraising strategies that align with DAWN’s strategic goals
Coordinate and manage all annual fundraising programs including events, a targeted, multi-approach direct mail program, a pro-active personal solicitation program, follow-up initiatives, and electronic requests for gifts
Coordinate and develop DAWN’s third party fundraising program and serve as an articulate, enthusiastic and visible spokesperson at community events and functions
Participate in outreach events and public presentations
Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field. Relevant work experience can be substituted.
The strongest candidates will demonstrate experience in marketing and outreach.
Ability to prioritize big picture ideas and execute into tangible actions.

Ability to create and manage all aspects of engaging events that build upon DAWN’s solid brand and reputation
Ability to think creatively and strategically to help develop annual and multi-year giving strategies and have the skills to create what you need to help pull together a successful annual giving program
Exceptional reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills, including an ability to translate ideas and concepts into clear actionable items
Highly organized and self-starting with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities with attention to detail
A high degree of initiative, confidence and energy to achieve or exceed goals, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
Ability to self-manage, work independently, and work with a team
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, using correct English grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary
Demonstrated ability to use computer tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, and database programs (Sales Force preferred)
Strong ability to maintain effective working relationships
Ability to work irregular hours on occasion, including some evenings and weekends
Own or have access to reliable transportation, including a valid Washington State driver’s license and proof of auto insurance (if applicable)
Ability to pass a Washington State Patrol background check—required for employment
