Manage assigned customer and budget base; pursue and secure business in line with corporate/regional objectives.
Ensure retention of all Latin America customers transitioning to SeaLand. Work in partnership with Maersk colleagues through this process to allow for fluidity and ease to customer.
Deliver consistent revenue and volume improvement of your territory to allow for long term market share growth. * Strive for consultative sales to distinguish market presence by effectively probing / identifying needs and suggesting solutions to help customers.
Build a good understanding of target customers/assigned account base (contact, commodities/ trade lanes, type of business, contract information/exceptions, and service requirements).
Provide personalized service and build relationships with customers, identify current and future customer requirements.
Establish internal network in North America and globally to facilitate resolution of customer issues.
Build understanding of all service offerings to be able to offer integrated solutions.
Communicate significant trends, rate changes and policies to assigned account.
Research and understand territory to identify and establish business contacts with potential customers
Respond to all sales leads/key correspondence within identified timelines.
Research and analyze competitive and industry trends (e.g. analyze sales statistics, prepare reports, study literature regarding new and existing services, and monitor sales, prices and services of competitors); recommend appropriate measures.
Develop customer value propositions through the help of Sales Essential model, for all appropriate business opportunities.
Liaise regularly with Customer Service to ensure end to end fluidity of service delivery for your customer base.
Utilize persuasive selling strategies in producing fact based customer value propositions.
Attend trade shows and industry related association functions to help further promote SeaLand brand awareness in market.
Provide regular market feedback and trends to Management, Trade and Marketing.
Ensure Customer Relationship Management tool (e.g. Salesforce.com) is updated and used regularly with leads, targets, opportunities and related client information.
We are looking for

3 to 5 years of experience in the transportation industry including at least 3 years of experience in sales within the container shipping or logistics industries.
Proven sales background and success
Strong understanding of global operations of transportation industry
Experience specifically in the Latin America trades is preferred.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
