Director of Finance – Launch – Seattle, WA

What are the responsibilities of this position?
The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Preparing and overseeing the agency’s budget
Managing annual audit activities
Overseeing preparation of monthly financial statements and related reports for board and management
Oversight responsibility for several functions, including :
Tuition billing and collection
Accounts payable
Payroll
IT systems and infrastructure administration and hardware/software procurement.
Reviewing and monitoring agency contracts and leases
Managing agency banking relationships
Insurance and risk management
In conjunction with the HR team, managing benefits renewal and 401K administration.
This position also supervises direct reports responsible for accounting, finance, and IT. As the direct supervisor,
the Director of Finance is responsible for:
Leading by example, in accordance with Launch’s mission and values.
Supporting the growth and development of direct reports through coaching, training and mentorship. This includes providing recognition, feedback, and developmental support on an ongoing basis.

That sounds like me! What should I do if I’m interested?

You’ll need to apply online for the job, but you should also know a few things first:
If you’re under the age of 18 – we appreciate your interest; however, we are unable to hire minors for this particular role.
You’ll need to meet our education requirements. You should at least have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related business field. A Master’s degree in a similar field would also be great, but not required.
You’ll also need appropriate experience – at least five years of experience in a finance role, preferably with a non-profit of a similar size (e.g. budget of ~$7mil). Your experience should demonstrate a strong understanding of GAAP, financial risk management, and other key areas of finance. Previous experience in a licensed child care organization would be awesome, but not required.
You should also have prior experience effectively managing a team of employees and providing supervisory oversight of a finance function of business.

You’re technologically proficient, including MS Office applications, payroll software (ADP), and accounting software (Quickbooks). Familiarity with childcare management software (Procare) is a huge plus!
You’re able to meet the Washington Dept. of Early Learning’s requirement to be on-site at our schools, which includes completing a portable background check and proof of a negative TB test.
You’re OK with an annual salary between $90,000 and $105,000. We’ll fit you in somewhere between those two numbers based on your experience and abilities.
