Advancement Associate – Redwood City – Adolescent Counseling Services

ORGANIZATION Adolescent Counseling Services (ACS) was founded in 1975 and its mission is to empower youth in our community to find their way through social-emotional support and by building safe, accepting communities. To achieve this, ACS operates four programs serving 10-25 year olds in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties: the On-Campus Counseling Program, providing free counseling on-campus at partner secondary schools; the Outlet Program, providing support, education, leadership development, and advocacy for LGBTQQ youth; the Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment Program, providing assessment, outpatient treatment, aftercare, and education; and the Community Counseling Program, providing affordable individual and family counseling during the afternoon and evening hours.

OVERVIEW The Advancement Associate will provide full-time support for ACS’ advancement and donor relations efforts. This position works closely with the Events & Donor Relations Manager and under the strategic direction of the Associate Director. The Advancement Associate is critical to successfully achieving agency fundraising goals and providing the infrastructure for high quality donor cultivation, engagement, and stewardship.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the implementation of annual and long-range advancement goals
Coordinate the Annual Campaign direct mail and online appeals
Draft appeal language with guidance from Associate Director
Assist Events & Donor Relations Manager on the implementation and planning of fundraising events, specifically auction procurement and record keeping using auction software
Collaborate with Events & Donor Relations Manager on planning of agency cultivation & stewardship events
Manage donor database including gift processing, data entry, updating, cleaning and utilization of database
Produce bi-monthly reports for the Associate Director and work with the bookkeeper to ensure numbers reported are accurate between donor database and financial records
Manage donor acknowledgements and donor acknowledgement process
Provide the Advancement Committee, its subcommittees, and volunteers with administrative support as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS
1-3 years of project management or fundraising experience preferred
Excellent computer skills and extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Experience working in database environments, such as SalesForce, DonorPerfect, or Raiser’s Edge, preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to work in a highly collegial and collaborative manner
Strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
Ability to provide high-quality donor relations and volunteer experiences
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Sociology, or other related field preferred
Must have a passion for the mission and values of Adolescent Counseling Services
