Administrative and Bookkeeping Assistant – Greater Washington Society of CPAs

The Greater Washington Society of CPAs is currently seeking a full time staff position which would assist with the day to day bookkeeping function, as well as support office management and program/events of the organization.

This position is responsible for interfacing with the membership and general public as well as handling daily tasks such as phone reception and database entry, and supporting program staff with preparation for, and onsite support of, regular seminars, special events, and research and membership meetings. Bookkeeping responsibilities include primarily data entry into and reporting from Quickbooks, and accurate recordkeeping within our membership database. The monthly financial statements will be prepared by a contracted accountant, who will work closely with this staff position and the Operations Director on those reports as well as annual audit prep.

This is a fast paced, small office setting that will require the skill to regularly move between duties in a number of different arenas. In office hours will typically be 8-4 M-F, with some flexibility provided event coverage is effectively managed. Additional qualifications:
3+ years administrative/office management experience, preferably within a non-profit setting
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work independently, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
Ability to problem-solve and identify issues requiring the attention of other staff
Excellent technical skills, including Microsoft Office, Quickbooks and ability to learn new platforms
