Residential Community Intern – Raphael House of San Francisco

Raphael House, the first shelter for children and families experiencing homelessness in Northern California, provides an environment of loving support where families are able to move toward brighter and more hopeful futures.

Through a “homeowners” approach to social service, we work with parents and families to lay the foundation for a lifetime of healthy development, achievement, and stability. Our Residential Program has a proven history of providing an environment for healthy growth and development of children and families. Long after a family leaves the Re s ident ial Progr am and departs to stable housing, our staff, volunteers and Board of Directors remain committed to the lifetime success of each of our families through a spectrum of Bridge Program services. What began as a homeless drop-in shelter has grown into a full service family support center where families thrive. The mission of Raphael House is to help at-risk children and their parents achieve stable housing and financial independence, while strengthening family bonds and personal dignity.

Our Residential Community Internship (RCI) Program provides an opportunity for students and adult professionals from various backgrounds to participate in directly serving homeless and low-income families. By partnering with students and adult professionals from committees that are dedicated to issues of social justice and empowerment of those living in poverty, everyone benefits: the families that we serve, the committees that we partner with, and our community at large.

A residential intern may be placed in any of the following programs:
