Program Aide – Cooperative Elder Services Inc – Milton, MA

Cooperative Elder Services, Inc., founded in 1979, is a private, non-profit Adult Day Health and Memory Care organization committed to providing care to low-income and at-risk adults with disabilities and elders. CESI operates five programs, which serve over 650 participants and their caregivers, from 58 towns and cities in the greater Boston area.

CESI’s Milton program is hiring part time and per diem program aides. The program aide’s responsibilities include:

Plans and implements recreational activities daily
Serves and assists in implementing the luncheon program and snacks.
Assists clients with their mobility, transfers, and feeding.
Assists clients with other ADL’s as assigned by the Nurse or Program Manager. This includes toileting, bathing, or changing client’s clothing.
Supervises clients who wander or are a safety risk
Assists clients with arrivals to, and departures from, the program.
Assists with exercise programs
Assists with health evaluations and monthly health monitoring, including taking vital signs: BP, apical/radial pulse, respirations, weight and height; and assisting with behavioral programs
Reports changes in behavior or physical signs to staff nurses in a timely fashion.

Qualified candidates will possess current certification as a nurse’s aide (CNA), or home health aide certification, or relevant health care training or competency evaluation program. Previous experience working with adults in a professional capacity, and knowledge of elder services preferred. Must have reliable transportation.
