Residence Managers – All boroughs – New York Foundling Hospital

Founded by the Sisters of Charity in 1869 as a home for abandoned children, The Foundling today offers an expansive array of services for underserved children, families, and adults with developmental disabilities. Whether it’s an abused child in need of a foster home, a young mother who lacks the skills to care for her child, or a young person lost in the juvenile justice system, The Foundling provides the resources necessary to rebuild lives and rebuild families.We have over 1300 employees located in every borough of New York City, Westchester and Rockland Counties and in Puerto Rico. We are currently looking to hire Residence Managers for our residential programs for developmentally-disabled adults in New Rochelle, Manhattan or the Bronx.

Responsible for the overall operations of the residence, including but not limited to:

To supervise Disabilities Specialists in a direct care/OPWDD facility. Ensures that good solid principles of behavioral management and development are the basis for dealing with individuals in the residences.

Participates in preadmission activities, admission planning, evaluation and discharge planning.

prepare and implement Residential Habilitation and Individual Protective Oversight plans.

Ensure that residential plans are implemented and properly documented.

Ensure that individual case records are current, organized and maintained in a confidential manner in accordance with agency policies and procedures and by the regulations governing the provision/operation of residential services.

Supervise and instruct Disabilities Specialists to carry out assigned duties.

Responsible for provided staff coverage to ensure adequate supervision for the individuals.

The Residence Manager position requires an Associate’s degree or 60 college credits and prior supervisory experience in the MR/DD field. It also requires and a clean and valid NYS driver’s license with no more than 2 points.
