Turning Green (TG) is a Sausalito-based non-profit organization dedicated to mobilizing youth to become active around issues that have a direct impact on personal and environmental health.

Position

The Project Green Challenge Coordinator will oversee the execution of one of the organization’s key programs, a 30-day eco lifestyle challenge for high school and college students. We are seeking a driven innovator, a creative visionary and a collaborative multi-tasker to join our team from July through the end of November (and potentially longer). Knowledge of or experience in the green space and digital media are preferred and you MUST be able to commit to 30-40 hours per week in our offices in Sausalito, California.

Responsibilities

Drafting and developing content, including challenge content, press releases, outreach, correspondence, etc.
Judging Project Green Challenge submissions during the month of October
Planning the Project Green Challenge Finals, a three-day eco summit in November
Communicating, coordinating with, and supporting PGC Campus Reps on campuses worldwide
Outreach to schools/media outlets
Social media strategy and execution
Website updates (WordPress)
Data entry/upkeep (Excel)
Calendar maintenance and planning
Multimedia/photo/video editing (Photoshop/Final Cut/iMovie)
Event coordination, and more!

Preferred Qualifications

We are a small, nimble, rapid-moving, high-impact team. We’re looking for:

Bachelor’s degree from a top university, Masters a plus but not required
3-plus years work experience in communications, PR, fundraising, development, program development, or other related field.
Excellent communications skills and the ability to write clearly and persuasively
Ability to take initiative, think strategically and critically, and pay close attention to detail
Keen understanding of and passion for sustainability and the environmental movement
Interest in and commitment to the TG mission
Social media expertise
Organizational and management skills
Friendly and collaborative attitude, team player
