Program Manager for Internship Program – Upper West Strategies

Seeking full-time program manager responsible for developing and managing an exciting workforce development program in New York City. Great opportunity to play a leading role in a prominent NYC program.

Comfortable working in and bringing structure to virtual team environment
Able to think strategically while being detail oriented
Strong business sense in handling new situations and challenges
Excellent communication skills
Familiarity with virtual collaboration tools

Day-to-day responsibilities will vary based on program needs but will include the following:

General Program Management
Project manage core program elements to ensure input and alignment across team, to ensure timely completion of program deliverables and track progress against program objectives
Engage with program partners on a day-to-day basis to ensure successful execution of program
Serve as day-to-day point of contact for client’s Program Manager

Manage Internship Facilitation including placing students
Lead Student Selection Process
Manage process for matching and ensuring students are hired by hosts into suitable internships
Ensure that interns are properly on-boarded and manage any issues.

Training & Curriculum
Coordinate training and curriculum activities, including potential week-long “boot camp” at beginning of internship period that may include program orientation, technical training, soft-skills training, site visits, speakers, etc.
Develop, plan and manage other activities during internship period including round tables, panel events, lunch-and-learns, seminars, networking and social events, workplace tours

Marketing / Outreach
Oversee vendor developing program website and manage ongoing maintenance of site
Develop marketing materials for program with main objectives of attracting students and hosts
Write program communications (emails / blog posts) and social media posts on ongoing basis
Manage program PR in coordination with client

Academic Partnerships / Student Recruitment
Manage student recruitment activities and marketing efforts leading to applications
Arrange for presence and lead attendance at career fairs, info sessions and other student events
Provide marketing materials to university faculty, career services and others and ensure they are conducting outreach to students to encourage them to apply
Provide support as needed for student applicants to help with selection process (resume and interviewing skills support) and/or identify resources needed to help students
Ensure that sufficient number of students apply for program

Industry Partnerships / Hosts
Support publicity to potential hosts
Ensure that host agreements are secured from all program hosts
Serve as main day-to-day relationship lead with hosts, once confirmed

Events / Other
Plan welcoming reception at the beginning of summer
Plan final reception at the end of summer
Plan quarterly industry / academia working group meetings
Develop and manage alumni program
Oversee all required program reporting
