Partnership and Development Manager – New York – Urban Assembly School for Global Commerce

The Urban Assembly School for Global Commerce serves high need students, most coming from traditionally underserved neighborhoods in NYC. In order to achieve our mission of preparing all students for postsecondary success, we require resources, experience, and personnel that cannot be provided within our limited staff and baseline budget. In order to obtain these resources, we must be proactive and strategically seek out partnerships with organizations who share our conviction for educational equity.

The Partnership and Development Manager will be responsible for maintaining our existing partnerships and programming while significantly increasing the impact on our school community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Found and oversee an independent non-profit organization that will supplement the instructional goals of The Urban Assembly School for Global Commerce through additional resources and services
Manage a portfolio of relationships with partners including foundations, private businesses, individual supporters, and governmental agencies
Identify and cultivate relationships with prospective partners to create sustainable development structure
Lead after-school enrichment programming, both internal clubs and activities and relationships with external partners, to build an enduring culture of engagement
Plan and execute events to celebrate accomplishments of students and staff and grow support for school
Build relationships with private businesses to provide job shadow, internships, and employment opportunities for students
Develop promotional materials (brochures, website, social media) in order to maintain current partnerships and cultivate new supporters

Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with at least 2-5 years in development experience required
Proven commitment to educational equity and passion for providing direct service
Demonstrated success in generating new sources of support for non-profit organizations
Excellent writing skills including creating materials for a variety of different audiences
Manages multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining meticulous attention to detail
Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to comfortably address large groups
Possesses the qualities of an independent, self-starter, but also comfortable receiving feedback and working collaboratively
