Manager of Volunteer Relations – New York – StreetWise Partners

Position Overview:
The new Volunteer Recruiter will oversee volunteerism at StreetWise Partners and ensure that the organization recruit high quality, impactful volunteers. This position will focus on strategically recruiting, engaging, and retaining volunteers to serve as mentors and one-time event participants.

Job Description:
. Lead volunteer recruitment efforts for all NYC programs; create and implement a volunteer strategy to engage 750 volunteers annually for both one-time volunteer activities and long term mentorship. Efforts should include: visits to corporations, online outreach and hosting
information sessions. This position may also assist the Washington D.C. region with volunteer strategy.
. Partner with Program Coordinators to host annual Mock Interview and Speed-networking events; manage recruitment, event implementation and follow up to convert one-time volunteers into mentors.
. Host annual special events to increase volunteer retention, including appreciation and professional development activities.
. Implement strategy to diversify volunteer base by ethnicity, age and professional sector. Design recruitment opportunities to assist with these goals.
. Partner with Program Coordinators to process volunteer applications, track progress, monitor performance and identify opportunities for increased cultivation and promotion into leadership roles.
. Research and analyze trends in internal and external volunteerism; recommend strategy to program team.
. Collaborate with the Development Department to launch customized “days of service” to engage corporations and their staff; host day of service; oversee all follow up with volunteers moving forward.
. Manage volunteer information tracking in database; includes tracking of relationships and communication efforts. Self-monitor monthly efforts to ensure regular follow up is
maintained.

Additional Responsibilities:
. Consistently exhibit a high degree of professionalism and integrity on the job.
. Work may involve contact with or handling of sensitive and confidential issues – discretion is required at all times.
. Attend staff training and meetings as required.
. Provides supervisor with regular progress reports and updates on all projects.
. Performs other administrative duties as assigned.
. Some evenings required.

Qualifications:
. Bachelor Degree required.
. 3 – 4 years of experience with volunteer recruitment.
. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
. Knowledge of Sales Force or another database.
