Asian Health Services (AHS) is a federally qualified health center (FQHC), based in Oakland, CA. With a patient base and staff comprised of ten Asian language groups, Asian Health Services is nationally recognized as a pioneer in developing language access programs to support primary care clinical services. Under general direction of the Chief Operations Officer, the General Services Manager oversees AHS’ administration services department, which includes the administrative, purchasing, and facilities staff, and leads our internal health and safety practices. The GSM drives customer service excellence throughout the department and actively engages with management across all AHS sites to ensure that facilities and purchasing needs are responded to promptly and effectively. Key skills and responsibilities include: contracting, purchasing and vendor relationships, budgeting, policy development, project and space management, facilities maintenance, building security, emergency planning, ergonomics, corporate compliance, and personnel management.

This position requires a responsive self-starter who can balance big picture priorities with attention to relevant details. A college degree and four years of experience as office manager or general services manager; 5 years of related property or facilities management experience and purchasing, with at least 3 years of strong experience managing administrative staff and operations in a health care setting. Experience in employee on-boarding, space planning, space utilization and employee desk moves. Excellent communication skills pertaining to all levels of the organization.
