DESCRIPTION
The Board of Directors of the Washington Association for Infant Mental Health (WA-AIMH) is pleased to announce it is recruiting for the position of Executive Director. It’s an exciting time at WA-AIMH as demand for infant mental health training and endorsement increases and there is growing recognition regionally and nationally for support of the early childhood workforce. Our new leader will have the opportunity to build on our growing momentum and lead the organization into its next chapter as an important partner for early childhood development.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and reflective leader with an understanding of infant mental health and a passion for working on behalf of the healthy development of young children and their caregivers. We seek an independent and entrepreneurial leader with experience leading and managing within the unique complexities of small nonprofit organizations. Creativity, resourcefulness, and the ability to organize and inspire groups are key attributes for success in this position.

About the Washington Association for Infant Mental Health
The Washington Association for Infant Mental Health (WA-AIMH) is a statewide organization that supports a vital interdisciplinary community of professionals and policymakers in order to promote the social and emotional well-being of young children and their parents and caregivers throughout Washington. Our vision is that all young children in Washington experience healthy development through nurturing relationships with one or more loving, capable, and consistent caregivers.
Our work focuses on raising awareness about the importance of the first three years of life and the role of primary caregiver/child relationships in supporting healthy infant and child development, as well as ensuring that the professionals who care for young children and families have the tools, support, education, and training they need to deliver high quality interventions.
WA-AIMH is a professional membership organization that draws from diverse disciplines, including health care, mental health, early intervention specialists, and social workers. We offer summits and conferences and advocate at the state level for investments and policy improvements for the field. Since the Spring of 2016, WA-AIMH has administered the IMH-E® Endorsement system for clinicians working within the infant mental health field. In doing so, WA-AIMH and Washington State join a league of 18 states that provide this model of endorsement. WA-AIMH is an affiliate of the World Association for Infant Mental Health.
