Children Mending Hearts (CMH), located in Sherman Oaks, CA is seeking a full-time talented Development Director with strong fundraising experience, including special events, sponsorship solicitation and the ability to develop and nurture relationships with major donors, foundations and corporate sponsors.
Responsibilities include:
Building of donor database
Oversight of fundraising campaigns including crowdfunding experiences and donor cultivation around CMH’s Ambassador Circle
Oversight of grant writing
Creation of sponsorship decks for events and organization
Creation of fundraising plan and estimated budget projections followed by periodic monitoring reports
Management of cross disciplinary development team
Board member recruitment
Requirements include:
Bachelors degree
5 years experience in fundraising, development and event planning oversight
Expertise in excel and donor databases (donor perfect, salesforce, razors edge, etc)
Strong organizational and networking skills
Ability to work on various events simultaneously
Ability to create and manage budgets
Personal relationships with potential funders in the arts and education space
Management experience
Heavy special event fundraising experience
History in raising over $200,000 per year for a non-profit organization
Salary:
Position is full time and salary based on experience.
Incentive compensation offered based on meeting fundraising goals.

Children Mending Hearts (CMH) was founded in 2008 by Lysa Heslov and is dedicated to educating and empowering disadvantaged youth throughout Los Angeles County. Each curriculum in our “CMH Global Arts” program is structured to provide participating youth with awareness about a specific country, skills in a specific artistic modality, and focused opportunities to integrate their arts-learning with social activism. Since its founding, CMH has worked with over 12,000 youth and currently provides arts education to 800 children throughout Los Angeles who would otherwise not have access to it.
