Deputy National Coordinator and Campaigner- LA area – Codepink Women for Peace – Venice, CA

CODEPINK is hiring a deputy national coordinator and campaigner in the LA area starting immediately.

CODEPINK is a dynamic and exciting organization at the forefront of the anti-war movement. We are looking for someone to support national organizing in conjunction with the national coordinator based in Washington DC and to oversee CODEPINK’s exciting new campaign to build a program around peace economies in a militarized society. This job is full-time.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working in the non-profit world as a change maker, campaigner or grassroots organizer. Must be extremely focused and detail oriented. Must demonstrate follow-through as well as experience handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.

Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Provide support for West Coast CODEPINK National staff members

Work with East Coast staffers to coordinate actions and campaigns

Organize and participate in West Coast actions

Work with local CODEPINK volunteers across the country to keep them plugged into national campaigns

Help with website updates

Write articles/blogs regularly

Maintain social media presence on national CODEPINK platforms

Campaign strategy and deployment: Integrate online communications and organizing with offline events and trainings to build our power and make our members more effective. Recruit online activists to sign on, take on leadership, and do more. Coordinate hard-hitting visibility actions around the country with leaders you identify and promote. Utilize advisory board for smart campaigning.

Messaging and communication: Write powerful alerts, especially short and grabby emails, for a popular audience. Build emails, web pages and other online materials to grow our audience and win victories. Pick strategies and tactics that will attract press coverage, write press releases, make press calls, do follow up work.

Training and leadership development: Develop creative new ways to mobilize members. Invent, deploy and improve an online-offline network of action. Get to know our grassroots activists and help them do good, creative work.

Innovation: Find and develop creative online tools to empower activists. Deploy and tests new uses of technology, and measure what’s working to identify solutions and improvements.
