Reports To: Chief Development and Marketing Officer

FLSA Status: Exempt

SUMMARY: The focus of this position is the identification, procurement, and overseeing of the various grants for operations and programs of New Horizons.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Perform prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for corporate and foundation grants.
Prepares, submits, and manages grant applications to foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
Complies with all grant reporting as required by donors and funders.
Provides regular written updates to corporate and foundations donors.
Work with finance department to gather information necessary to reporting financial updates.
Work with the CDMO, CEO, COO and other department colleagues to provide input and information for all written institutional materials.
Serve as a liaison to granting agencies on behalf of New Horizons
Assist with other fundraising/development projects as required
Assist with other duties as assigned by CDMO.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following:
Uses database management program for donor and volunteer and funding information and reports.
Attends meetings and trainings as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 2 years experience with grant writing.
Previous experience with non-profit fundraising.
Experience working in deadline-driven environments.
Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments And meet deadlines.
Monitor and meet financial goals.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or a combination of education and work experience. At least two years of corporate and foundations relations experience in a non-profit environment.

MATHMATICAL SKILLS: The individual must have good quantitative skills, including basic statistical skills, creating quantitative reports and creating budgets.
