Salud Para La Gente (SPLG) provides high quality, comprehensive and cost-effective healthcare to underserved low-income communities in the Monterey Bay area, including Santa Cruz County and North Monterey County. We began in Watsonville in 1978 as a storefront “free clinic”. With the ever growing need for health services, in 1992 we became a federally qualified community health center. Today we are a primary health care network with 12 clinic sites and continue to provide high quality services to patients of all ages.

We are seeking a dynamic, organized and detail-oriented Clinic Manager to oversee clinic operations for one or more Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) locations in Santa Cruz and Monterey counties to ensure compliance with state and federal licensing, program and accreditation requirements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Manages daily operations of the clinic practice including administrative, financial, personnel, housekeeping, maintenance, and purchasing functions.

Maintains efficient work flow throughout the practice by implementing and evaluating procedures which monitor employee activities and clinic operations to assure compliance with SPLG protocols, applicable laws and regulations.

Maintains high quality care and first-rate patient experience.

Leads in the preparation and retention of records, files, reports and correspondence according to various government and industry practice standards.

Ensures compliance of the storage and media destruction policy.

Ensures appropriate financial counseling and eligibility determination.

Participates in and, as assigned, leads quality assurance and quality improvement functions in accordance with SPLG policy and practice standards.

Manages patient complaints with guidance from license professional staff and Medical or Dental director as necessary.

Provides support for administrative planning activities including, but not limited to, clinic budget, audits and strategic planning.

Understands and interprets complex governmental regulations and guidelines.

Maintains absolute confidentiality and ensures all patient services are confidential.

Communicates effectively and respectfully with people from different racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and lifestyles.

Maintains effective and collaborative working relationships with agency staff, clients, other community agencies, revenue sources, and the public.

Complies with EEO, ADA, and other applicable employment laws and regulations in the supervision of staff.

Recruits clinic staff with assistance from appropriate supervisor and human resource department.

Assists in the development of on-the-job training programs for new and current employees.

In coordination with Human Resources, documents and conducts disciplinary actions and provides recommendations for training and development of support staff.

Consistently adheres to and/or exceeds SPLG’s communication guidelines and expectations with internal and external customers including co-workers, patients, and external partners.

Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in public health, human services or related area.

Three years of clinic or medical group operations experience in an administrative and supervisory capacity, preferably a community health center or public agency.

Knowledge of community health center operations, health care delivery systems and associated administrative practices.

Knowledge of health information technology including electronic health record systems.

Strong supervisory skills.

Possession of valid CA Driver’s license and current car insurance
