Program Director – California Rural Legal Assistance Inc – El Centro, CA

The Rural Health Disparities Program (RHDP) is focused on targeted, outcome-oriented advocacy to reduce health disparities for low-income, immigrant, communities of color, and other vulnerable communities living in rural areas of California. The RHDP is led by a Program Director with a strong command of health consumer advocacy and demonstrated understanding of how the social determinants of health impact vulnerable communities in rural areas. Working under the supervision and guidance of the Deputy Director and in alignment with the mission of CRLA and CRLA’s Core Expectation for Programs, the Program Director will provide oversight, direction, management and monitoring of CRLA health advocacy focused on reducing health disparities and ensuring that priority outcomes are met. The Program Director will also provide oversight, direction, management, and monitoring of local advocacy efforts in Imperial County.

Qualifications:

JD with Bar Admission in California required, additional degree in Public Heath or related field a plus.

Working knowledge of the Affordable Care Act, and related programs/regulatory policies.

Experience working in community-based settings with low-income families.

Experience with management and supervision of professional teams and legal work.

Proven track record of collaborating with internal professional teams and external records.

Ability to establish rapport, trust with a diverse set of professional partners & institutional leaders.

Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and demands in a timely and professional manner.

Bilingual skills in Spanish highly desirable
