Faith Relations Coordinator – San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity – Azusa, CA

Job Description

The Faith Relations Coordinator at San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity works in collaboration with the Volunteer & Youth Programs Manager and the Grants and Partnerships Manager to engage places of worship and individuals to support the affiliate’s affordable housing mission. Priorities include nurturing and sustaining current faith partnerships, growing new faith partnerships, educating parishioners and church groups about putting faith into action through Habitat partnerships for social justice and local mission work, growing the number of construction and hospitality volunteers from faith communities and engaging places of worship in raising funds to accomplish Habitat builds.

Reports to: Executive Director

Position Classification: Non-Exempt

Salary: $15/hour

Essential Duties

Develop and support Faith Relations including volunteer procurement and fund development goals from places of worship

Maintain as well as establish active partnerships between SGV Habitat and religious organizations in the San Gabriel Valley with a focus on communities with planned or active builds

Schedule meetings and speaking engagements with faith leaders, congregations and service clubs to share Habitat’s mission and develop partnerships

Schedule meetings and speaking engagements with current partners to maintain and deepen their involvement with SGV Habitat

Promote donation opportunities to new and existing partners

Maintain regular communication with faith partners, all segments of partner churches (seniors, young professionals and youth) and community coalitions that promote putting faith into action

Ensure SGV Habitat’s continued involvement in Alternative Gift Fairs (AGF)

Perform other duties and projects, as assigned

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Outstanding interpersonal, communication, writing and public speaking skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and internet search
Ability to set and meet goals
Strong organizational skills including prioritization of multiple projects
Resourcefulness and ability to work proactively with others and independently
Willingness to work with all religious traditions
Accuracy and attention to detail
Upbeat person with “team” attitude
Strong work ethic, flexibility to work under tight deadlines
Superior service ethic, grace under pressure and spirit of generosity
