Rockland Independent Living Center, a consumer-directed, cross-disability advocacy and service organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for persons with disabilities, is seeking a full-time OPWDD Employment Specialist/Consumer Advocate within our BIP Program, Balancing Incentive Program.

This is a grant funded position and will end on December 31, 2015

Job Purpose:

The Temporary Employment Specialist/Consumer Advocate is responsible for providing outreach and information to providers of institutionalized care, sheltered workshops, day habilitation programs, and adult homes about the Bridges to Employment program. The specialist/advocate will assist consumers from workshops and day habilitation programs, who are evaluated as capable of becoming self-employed, through the steps toward self-employment.
