Teacher (Early Head Start & Head Start) – Plaza de la Raza Child Development Services Inc – Pico Rivera, CA

Summary of Duties:

The Teacher promotes educational, social, physical and intellectual growth by teaching students; plans group and individual lesson plans, organizes activities, monitors individual student progress, conducts student observations; completes daily educational and attendance records; conducts parent/teacher conferences. The Teacher is responsible for the planning and implementation of a curriculum in the classroom that meets the Head Start Program requirements in preparation forprimary school in preschool, day care center or other child development facility.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field is required; must have a valid California Child Development Center Permit or Child Development Teacher Permit; and must have a valid CPR/First Aid certification. For Early Head Start Program, the applicant must also have at least six (6) semester units of infant and toddler development coursework.

Experience:

Two (2) years of experience in a classroom setting or combination of two years of experience in both classroom and group settings with young children under the age of 5 isrequired.
